How To Locate the Readme Files for SQL Server 2000 SP4

Microsoft® SQL Server™ 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4) has four parts:

• Database Components SP4 updates an instance of the database engine for SQL Server 2000, excluding instances of the SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000).

• Analysis Services SP4 updates the various parts of SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services in a SQL Server 2000 installation.

• MSDE 2000 SP4 updates instances of SQL Server 2000 MSDE 2000 and MSDE 2000 Release A.

• SQL Server 2000 SP4 (64-bit) includes all updates for SQL Server 2000 (64-bit). This is the first service pack for SQL Server 2000 (64-bit).

Each part of SQL Server 2000 SP4 has its own readme file, and each readme file exists in a separate subfolder on the SQL Server 2000 SP4 CD-ROM. Click on the name of one of the parts of SQL Server 2000 SP4 in the above list to view the readme file for that part.

Note  KB899761 addresses an issue found with the final build of SQL Server 2000 SP4 that impacts customers who run SQL Server 2000 with Address Windowing Extensions (AWE) support enabled.
