Version 1.13b Revision Summary

Bug Fixes

An inverted if test caused routine printmsg() to not correctly format
the log file timestamp under all debug levels, resulting in garbage
appearing in the program logs. Corrected to display the correct
timestamp or debug level as required.

The UUSMTPD server would abort if it started a mail transaction and then
didnt actually process any data it because of no valid addresses or
other errors. This was caused by an underlying failure to fully
initialize its major transaction structure in commandMAIL(). The
structure is now properly initialized.

Under OS/2 only, the UUSMTPD and UUPOPD servers reported errors in
openSlave() attempting to raise the buffer size used by the system for
socket data. This is corrected by lowering the buffer size.

The UUSMTPD and UUPOPD servers would hang trying to read a socket if it
no transaction had been received from the client for a specificied
timeout period. Modified timeout processing to explicit skip reading
the socket when processing the timeout transaction.

The server TCP/IP support module smtpnetw.c truncated traced
conversations with remote clients after 75 character, which is not
sufficient for many routine responses. The limit is raised to 125
characters.

The FMT command was failing to echo the first empty line after each
paragraph to the output file. Corrected to echo the missing line.

Enhancements

Moved log files from spool directory to a new directory defined by
configuration variable LogDir. The default logging directory is
\UUPC\LOG. Note that the various flavors of the UUCLEAN command are
also modified to support this new directory.

Modified the core logging routines in logger.c to copy logs files faster
and with less possibility for error by changing a close/reopening of the
temporary log file to a simple rewind of the file. Also modified core
logging support to allow spinning off partial log for long running
programs.

Modified UUSMTPD and UUPOPD servers to now write out log files at least
once an hour if actively processing clients.

Added new Boolean option promiscuousrelay. The default setting of
nopromiscuousrelay does not allow third-party relaying of SMTP mail
through the SMTP server, where third party mail is defined as mail which
does not originate from a host whose host name is in the local domain
(defined by the existing configuration variable LocalDomain) and is not
addressed to an system defined in the SYSTEMS file or HOSTPATH file.

The UUPOLL command, which by design doesnt use the normal logging
functions, tended to leave the log file it writes when compiled for
debugging in whatever directory it was started from. The program is
modified to use the new LogDir directory for its log file.

The FMT command is modified to support the following new switches:

-c string specifies that string is to be appended to at
the end of each new line inserted. Note that
if -s is specified, existing lines do nothave
                        Istring appended.

-s specifies overlength lines are to split but no
lines are to be joined together.

-i input-file specifies the name of the input file.
                        The default is standard input.

-o output-file specifies the name of the output file.
                        The default is standard output.

The -o and -i switches are actually alternative syntax for the existing
positional parameters to specify the same information.
